Training and education of our four young Romanian technicians in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics are imperative to our growth and success in the future. Our success will be measured by the ability to manufacture a prosthetic or orthotic device for a patient to a level where it is both functional and professionally fitted, to avoid pain, discomfort or insecurity because of a poorly fitted device. We will maintain the highest international standards for the benefit of the patient. The love, care and Christian atmosphere and commitment that we provide our patients will also measure our success.
Our technicians have received their solid foundation of expertise at the Center for Orthotic and Prosthetic care in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. These technicians received training under the direct supervision and instruction of American Board Certified orthotic and prosthetic practitioners. They received hands on training in fabrication, evaluation, measurement and the fitting of orthotic and prosthetic devices.
Mr. Alexander Hardt, a German expert from Otto Bock in Hungary provided consultation, installation and training to our technicians regarding our state of the art machines. This training was provided at our own center with the equipment that we will be using daily.
One of our employees, who is physically challenged, will be a shoemaker. His training is being provided through a group called Operation Romanian Trust. Operation Romanian Trust is a UK based charity with the common objective of serving the disabled with orthotics and prosthetics manufactured by other individuals who are disabled. They are taking this young man under their wing and will train him in the field of orthopedic bootmaking. Much of our work depends on dependable, well-made shoes. This is another extensive need Theranova will meet.
Our quest to collaborate with the Romanian National Health Insurance also depends on our level of technical recognition. If we expect to receive some support through the insurance system, it is imperative that we receive ongoing education and training in the advances that occur in the fabrication of these prosthetic and orthotic devices in order to maintain our level of excellence in this field. |
